Blog Promotion-Twitter, Facebook And Content

December 22, 2009 · 2 comments

social networkingGoogle the “best blog promotion, facebook twitter” and you will find 8,240,000 results. There are some very good posts by some very good writers about which is best, Twitter or Facebook. The comments are interesting as well. Some see better returns from Twitter, others from Facebook. The obvious and best promotion is to use both.

Now we come to the problem of time spent. Consider all things promotion:

  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • SEO
  • Other social networking sites
  • Simple word of mouth

Content
Above all, none of this matters if your content sucks. The ‘post everyday’ concept is demanding for most people. For those who can do this consistently, a round of applause. For me it is better that I post the best I can, and that will not be every day.

I have started and failed several blogs over the last five years or so. The good thing is, I enjoyed it with the exception of one important point. With one blog I tried too hard and the enjoyment went out of it very quickly. More than anything, keep the enjoyment in your writing. When that is gone it will become a hateful chore and content will suffer.

Where do you get the best ROI of you time spent? Social networking, SEO or some other method?

As in everything in life-do what you enjoy and you will do a better job.
